Welcome to Riverside.

We understand that coming to a new place for the first time can be daunting, which is why we want to make your ‘new to Riverside’ experience an enjoyable one.
We have put together some FAQ’s which others have found helpful:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where does Riverside meet?
We are located at 131a Northam Road, Southampton, SO14 0QH

What time does the service start?
Our service starts at 10.30am and we encourage you to arrive a bit early (10.15am), to enjoy tea, coffee and also meet some friendly people.

What should I expect during the service?
Our services start with a thought provoking call to worship, followed by a time of sung worship which lasts for about 45 minutes. All of the words are projected onto a screen at the front however there is no pressure to sing if you don’t want to. During this time we seek to follow the Holy Spirit and church members may bring a word of encouragement, scripture or share a short testimony of God’s goodness. We then have a talk from one of our leadership team, with time for prayer and reflection.

Is there something for my children?
We have a fully trained and equipped children’s team with all of them fully DBS checked. The kids stay in the main service with their parents for the sung-worship and then go to their own activities during the talk. This provision is currently every Sunday for all school aged children 4-14yrs old. Please ask our welcome team on arrival for a registration form.

We have a creche room for under 4’s with a live stream of the service. This room includes, nappy changing facilities, a sofa for your comfort and is free to use but currently unstaffed so please stay with your children.

Is the church building accessible? Our main entrance has a small step at the front door and a further few steps into the foyer. We have step free access upon request at the end of the car park, which leads straight into the main hall. There is a ramp to access the foyer/toilets from the main hall. We have one accessible toilet. We understand not every disability is visible. We have a hearing aid loop with a labelled seating section.

Does the church have parking?

We have a small amount of parking on site and there is usually someone outside who can assist you on where is the best place to park. You can also park in front of Elite Garages down the road on Sunday mornings, just be sure to not block the car wash as this remains open on Sundays.
